Plan ahead to repair your pool
With the thought of upcoming summer pool parties, homeowners need to do some forward thinking. Fixing leaks on pools during a time of severe drought is time-consuming. In most cases LIC Pool will send water tanks out to clients to store the water temporarily and all tasks take their fair share of time. In the end, it may take longer to fix a problem pool than initially thought. So, owners need to plan in advance for lengthy repairs and expect some frustration as unforeseen problems may show up.Be pro-active and check your pool:
- Make a mark at the current water level in the pool. If it falls more than 5 mm a day, you have a potential leak.
- Start the pool pump and make sure there are no noises coming from it.
- Has the filter sand been changed lately?
- Are there leaks in the pool cleaner pipes?
- Does the pool have enough salt?
- Is there a sparkle in the dark from the pool light or should you have the bulb replaced?
- Is the roof wet when the pool pump runs?
- If yes, the solar panels are leaking out precious water.
- Check if there are any visible leaks in the pump room.
- If the pool cover is full of holes, it is perhaps time to replace it.
- Make provision for early summer rains by channelling pipes from the down pipes of the roof to the pool. Having a 20mm down-pour can fill the pool nicely and does not cost anything.
If you are unsure, email [email protected] or phone 061 232839 to book one of our technical teams to assist. LIC Pool spends a lot of time, effort and money to source and train the right workmen in an effort to give our clients top service.
